This beautiful building needs our help to repair the ceiling and reopen!

For more than 150 years, the Belleville Meetinghouse has been one of Newburyport's most important cultural and community gathering spaces. It is known for the "best acoustics on the North Shore" and is home to religious services, the Newburyport Choral Society, Belleville Roots Music Series, theater productions, organ concerts, weddings and more. It is one of the few spaces in our region able to provide a 600-seat venue for arts education and programming.

Belleville Church temporarily closed the building until it can restore the aging ceiling. Belleville Church was awarded $91,211 in Community Preservation Funds from the City of Newburyport to support the restoration of the historic ceiling. Belleville Church and its partners have raised another $204,800 through private donations and fundraising efforts.

Together, we have raised $296,011. We need to raise an additional $128,989 and are asking for help from the greater Newburyport community.
