Support the Bell Multicultural High School Baseball Program! ⚾
Hi, my name is Oliany Mendez, and I am the Head Baseball Coach at Bell Multicultural High School at Columbia Heights Education Campus. I am also a School Social Worker and youth advocate here in DC. Bell is home for me — it’s where I built relationships with students, families, and the community that shaped the leader and educator I am today.
When I returned to Bell to lead this baseball program, it wasn’t just to coach. It was to pour back into the young men growing up in the same neighborhoods, the same hallways, and the same community that once poured into me. Our players remind me every day why mentorship, structure, and belief matter.
Why We’re Fundraising
We have a group of committed, talented student-athletes who show up ready to work — not just to become better baseball players, but to become better young men. However, many of them face financial barriers that limit access to training, equipment, transportation, and competitive opportunities that other programs have.
Our school budget does not cover all the needs of a full, competitive season. To ensure our players have the experience they deserve, we’re reaching out to our community for support.
What Your Donation Will Support
Your contribution will directly help us cover:
- Baseball equipment and gear (gloves, helmets, bats, catcher’s gear, etc.)
- Uniforms and practice attire
- Training tools for player development
- Travel costs for road games and scrimmages
- Tournament and showcase entry fees
- Umpire and officiating fees
- Other essential team needs
Why This Matters
For many of our players, this team is more than baseball:
