Dear Chosen Family and Community,

We’re reaching out with love and urgency to ask for your support in raising emergency immigration funds for two Bay Area beloved artists, organizers, and activists in our queer community. These two individuals have been powerful forces for change—creating art, building chosen families, and showing up for our communities time and time again. Now, they need our support.

Due to the cruel and dehumanizing realities of the U.S. immigration system, they are facing significant legal costs and immediate expenses tied to an ongoing immigration process. One of them, a long-time Dreamer, is finally moving forward in their path to legal status—a process that may bring long-awaited reunification with family after eight painful years apart.

They’ve spent their lives resisting white supremacist systems, facing xenophobia and colonization, and continuing to show up in spaces of resistance and joy. Now, with your help, they can take this next step with dignity and without fear.

Petitioner Fee for Family Petition & Residency Application: $675

Beneficiary Fee for Family Petition & Residency Application: $1,440

Paralegal Services: $2,000

Contingency (includes medical exam, unforeseen costs, and GoFundMe fees):$1,885

TOTAL: $6,000

Any funds raised above the goal will be rolled over into other mutual aid projects supporting queer and trans communities.

Why This Matters

While having “papers” won’t grant true liberation, it will relieve the massive weight of living in constant fear. It will also allow them to reunite with family, in particular one’s mother, who has been separated for over eight years after being forced to return to their Indigenous homeland in Mexico.

Returning to their native Caxcan territory is more than a dream—it’s a sacred journey back home. This is the closest it’s ever been to becoming a reality, and we’re inviting you to be a part of this journey.
