Support Bar K OKC Team After Sudden Closure

Today, without warning, Bar K permanently closed all of its locations—including the Oklahoma City space that so many of us called home.

In a matter of hours, over 35 OKC employees—including 6 full-time and more than 30 part-time workers—were told they no longer had jobs.

No notice. No severance. No time to prepare.

These are the folks who greeted us at the door with a smile, who knew our dogs’ names, who poured our drinks and kept the patios clean.

They made Bar K OKC what it was: a vibrant hub for dog lovers, a space where rescues hosted adoption events and fundraisers, and where community thrived.

This isn’t just about lost wages—it’s about human dignity, compassion, and community.

With school just weeks away, many of these team members are now scrambling to:

• Pay rent and bills

• Buy groceries and fuel

• Get their children ready for the school year

• Cover unexpected expenses from this sudden closure

We’re aiming to raise $25,000 to help support the Bar K OKC team for at least two weeks as they search for new jobs and adjust to this abrupt change.
