Support Baby Oliver’s Fight & Our Family

Hi, my name is Rebecca, and I’m reaching out with a full heart during an incredibly difficult chapter for our family.

Our son, Oliver, was born early at just 34 weeks on May 24th, 2025. Though he made his entrance into the world sooner than expected, he’s already shown us how strong and brave he is. Shortly after his birth, Oliver was transferred to SickKids Hospital in Toronto, where doctors discovered he has a serious infection that must be treated before he can undergo critical heart surgery, we were then transferred to Credit Valley Hospital in the NICU where he continued his antibiotics and soon was clear of the infection he obtained when he was born. Shortly after Discharge, when at home, Oliver developed breathing issues and a high Fever which led to us making the decision to Call an ambulance to bring us to Milton General Hospital, which then brought us back to Sick Kids Hospital. After many tests, we discovered the return of Meningitis which caused Congested Heart Failure in our Monkey, and since resolved and controlled with use of Dietetics. As of now we are looking at a minimum course of Six or more weeks of care at sick kids.

While we focus on Oliver’s healing, we’re also grieving the unexpected loss of my brother, Benjamin, on the evening of May 19th, 2025—both life-changing events happened in the same week. Balancing heartbreak with hope has been incredibly hard on our family.

We’re also parents to our amazing daughter, Chloe, who’s been so patient and strong as her world has shifted around her. We’re doing our best to support her while spending as much time as possible at SickKids with Oliver.

As you can imagine, this has placed a huge emotional and financial strain on our family. We are humbly asking for help so we can continue to be there for our children without the added weight of financial worry.

Travel and living expenses while Oliver receives care at SickKids.

Support during his treatment and upcoming heart surgery.

Basic family needs as Joseph temporarily steps away from work to be with family.

Any unused funds will be donated directly to SickKids Toronto in honor of the care and compassion they’ve shown our son and our family.
