The Briscoe Family story started on February 20th 2018.   After a normal pregnancy Natalia was rushed to have an emergency c-section where she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Nova .   3 surgeries later they discovered that she has a specific type  of Muscular dystrophy called Nemaline Myopathy.   Nova needed 24 hour around-the-clock care.  Both  parents agreed that one of them needed to quit their job and stay home.    They both carried their own burdens; her husband was the full time caretaker of Nova while Natalia became the sole provider for their family.  After genetic testing,  mom and dad decided since they always dreamed of having more children, that they would go ahead and try for another baby. On September 4, 2019 Navada was born.   Another beautiful baby girl healthy and strong.   January 21st Navada suddenly stop breathing.  Dad rushed to give her CPR Which saved her life. She was immediately transported to University of Maryland where she was heavily sedated.   When she was strong enough they did a MRI and multiple tests.  Unfortunately, there is still no known reason why she stopped breathing in the 1st place. January 30th she was extubated and they started taking her off of Narcotics. She seems to be very uncomfortable and cries like she's in pain and again they have no idea why As of right now.   After doing more scans they realized that the brain activity has definitely differed from normal brain function therefore resulting in brain injury.  They are currently still in the hospital.   After being released she will have a lot of outpatient treatments due to the brain injury.   These will be out of pocket expenses. Since both girls need their parents, Nova due to having to be properly trach suctioned and fed and Navada for comfort and continued help.   It is putting a heavy strain on the family finacially once again.   Natalia is a very kind strong hardworking person wife and mother.  Her husband has been the best dad these girls could ask for as well as an amazing  Support system and a  Loving and giving husband.
