Help support Baby Madeline and her Family Through Lifesaving Brain Surgery!

Meet the Malgieri family – a devoted, loving household with three beautiful daughters. Their youngest, sweet Madeline, just celebrated her first birthday. At only 15 months old, Madeline will face a major medical journey: a right hemispherectomy — a complex brain surgery — to treat the seizures caused by Sturge-Weber Syndrome.

Madeline has been under the expert care of CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia), where her medical team has determined that this surgery offers the best hope for her future. It will be a long road: Madeline will spend 1–2 weeks in the PICU and neurology floor, followed by 6–8 weeks of intensive inpatient rehabilitation.

Her mom, Casey, is a dedicated local teacher, known for pouring love and energy into her students every day. Her dad, Nick, works full time in sales, doing everything he can to support the family financially while also navigating this emotional and demanding chapter.

Together, they are not only preparing to care for Madeline through this life-changing procedure but are also focused on maintaining stability and comfort for their two older daughters, ages 3 and 7. One parent will always need to be at the hospital 6-8 weeks with Madeline, while the other stays home to care for the girls — a constant rotation that will stretch them emotionally, logistically, and financially.

This fundraiser will help cover medical expenses, travel and lodging near the hospital, lost income, and the many unforeseen costs that come with caring for a medically complex child.

Your support — whether through donations, prayers, or shares — means the world to this family. Let’s come together to lift them up during this incredibly challenging and hopeful time.

Thank you for standing with Madeline!

What is Sturge-Weber Syndrome?

Sturge-Weber syndrome is a rare neurological disorder present at birth. It is often associated with a facial port-wine birthmark and caused by abnormal blood vessel development in the brain. This condition can lead to seizures, developmental delays, and vision problems. In Madeline’s case, it has caused frequent, difficult-to-control seizures, leading her medical team to recommend surgery as the best option for her long-term health and development.
