Just a new family of four:

Gavin Carter Jones born 2 lbs 8oz at 8:47 am on February 24th

He was born 10 weeks premature and also born with known heart defects; a condition requiring heart surgery one if not multiple times in his life called Tetralogy of Fallot. Right now his heart is doing okay- he’s stable. His lungs and brain need the help at the moment and once he was born he was immediately life flighted to Oklahoma Universities Children Hospital where he will inevitably be for the unforeseen future. If all goes well that could be 5-6 months but it’s possible that could also be longer. For now the important highlights are he’s stable. He’s a fighter and leaves us signs that he’s still aware of his surroundings and fighting as much as he can. He’s a wiggle worm in that little ventilator. He only opens his eyes for his mama right now and it wasn’t until yesterday I got to even hold him for the first time (shown in the picture). We are Gavin’s Heart Warriors. He needs as much help, warm wishes and prayers as we can get. Right now we’re doing okay. We take it hour by hour. For those asking what can we do we offer two options: make a donation in his name so we can find an appropriate charity worthy of putting his name towards or support us by providing funds for a meal or even gas to get us to and from the hospital. The hospital he’s at is a two hour drive from Altus, Oklahoma to OU Children’s hospital in OKC, Oklahoma.

We’re staying at the Ronald McDonald House connected to the hospital but will be driving back home frequently to also split time with our other son Silas. Thankfully we have family here also supporting us in that capacity to be able to watch him while we remain off and on at the hospital with Gavin.
