On behalf of my friend Kenzie and her husband (my cousin) Brock, I'm setting up this fundraiser to help support their family as they navigate an unexpected journey with their baby boy, Dax.
At just 30 weeks and 6 days, Kenzie's blood pressure spiked dangerously high, and it was decided by the doctor and hospital staff in TRF that she would need to be airlifted to Fargo to deliver, where she underwent an emergency C-section. Baby Dax was born weighing 4 lbs 5 oz and 17 inches long.
Dax has shown so much strength already. He was started on a ventilator and was soon weaned down to a CPAP while learning to breathe on his own. He is also on a feeding tube and being treated for jaundice, which is common for preemie babies.
The doctors expect Dax will be in the NICU for at least 4 weeks before he can go home. During this time, Brock and Kenzie will be facing medical bills, travel expenses, and time away from work as they focus on being with Dax.
I know they would never ask for help themselves, but many have reached out asking how to support them. Any donation - big or small - will help ease the financial stress and allow them to focus on what matters most: bringing their sweet boy home healthy and strong.
Thank you for keeping the Olson family in your thoughts and prayers.
