In Memory of Azir Harris: Father, Son, Warrior, Azir Harris, age 24, was a beloved father, son, brother, boyfriend, and friend whose light shone brightly despite unimaginable challenges.

Known for his love of video games, music, and basketball, Azir’s kind heart touched everyone around him.

At 17, Azir was paralyzed in a drive-by shooting in Philadelphia, yet his spirit remained unbroken. He adapted to his new reality, always checking on others’ well-being and inspiring resilience in support groups.

As a proud father to his one-year-old son, Aspen, and partner to Siani Wylie, Azir dreamed of moving his family to a safer place, free from the violence that changed his life.

Tragically, on July 4, 2025, Azir was taken from us in another act of gun violence. His loss leaves his family and community heartbroken.

Many of you supported Azir’s father, Troy, in his kosher food truck initiative to teach life and work skills, aiming to break the cycle of violence in Philadelphia. Now, we turn to you again.

As Azir’s family grieves, they need help covering funeral costs and living expenses.
