Help for flood repairs for Ayden, Zarah & soon to come baby
Donation protected
It seems like this year just keeps hitting and hitting and hitting us. We have been working over at Mom's house in Shawnee to get it ready for Ayden and Zarah to move in so they have some space of their own when our little sweet granddaughter gets here in September/October.
Well, because the county has never done anything about the drainage issues around the house, with this last storm, the neighbor's driveway washed out, blocking the small drainage ditch that is there and diverted all the water right over the retaining wall in front of the house and straight into the living room and basement.
Unfortunately, my mom’s insurance policy does not cover flooding! So, we’re doing something we have never done and we are turning to our friends, family, and community members in hopes that maybe we can raise enough money to either fix what will need to be fixed at the house or, if that isn’t an option, to finish the trailer out at my grandpa's so they have a place before the baby gets here.
Things we know for sure will need to be fixed at the house: drywall, flooring in the living room (possibly bathroom and laundry room as well), new hot water heater (it’s in the basement and was completely underwater), and possible foundation repairs as we were not able to get into the basement to see the extent of the damage that happened down there.
I know things are tough for everyone right now, so even if you are unable to donate, if you could just take a minute to share and help us get these kiddos in a place before their new little one arrives.
