On February 24th, a sudden fire destroyed my daughter’s home while my two-year-old grandson was inside with his babysitter, Ava. When she heard a strange noise and saw thick smoke filling the house, she didn’t hesitate. She grabbed my grandson and ran barefoot from the burning home just as flames took over. Leaving her own personal belongings behind.
Because of Ava’s courage and quick thinking, my grandson is alive today. She is more than a babysitter — she is our hero.
Ava also lost a lot that day. Her car was crushed when the house collapsed. As a young caregiver just starting out, losing her vehicle is devastating, and she depends on it for work and daily life.
We’re asking our community to rally around the young woman who chose courage in the face of danger. Any donation, big or small, will help Ava replace her car and begin to rebuild after this traumatic loss. Most of all, it will remind her that bravery and selflessness never go unnoticed.
Thank you, and may God bless you for your generosity.
