Hello, my name is Ashley. I am 30 years old and this is my story. I have struggled with mental illness since I was a young girl (age 8). The constant battles of trial and error finding the proper medications for myself have always been a battle.

This past Saturday (June 14), I attempted to take my life. I would have left my 2 beautiful children (Ava, 6, and Cameron, 2). They mean the absolute world to me. Suffering from mental illness, including bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, and PTSD from sexual assault and abuse, has been incredibly challenging. The trauma of giving one of my children up for adoption because I could not financially do it on my own has put a HUGE weight on my shoulders. I know I blessed a lovely family and started a family of their own. I know what I did was courageous. The stress finally got to me, and I tried to commit suicide. This is not the first time, and I PRAY I will never have to go through the pain again.

Currently, I'm struggling with financial difficulties. My car has gotten totaled, past due bills are piling up, and trying to provide necessities for my 2 children has been very hard while I try to juggle getting my mental health stable to be the happy mommy I need to be. They need me. They need their mama. I normally don’t ask for help this way, but to ease the stress on my shoulders, I’m asking for any generous donations. Anything would help. I just need enough to Uber back and forth to work, provide groceries, and try to save money towards a new car for my family. My daughter will be in second grade, and my son is just about to start preschool. A little helping hand would help me in any way. I’m fighting every day for my 2 babies.
