Hi, my name is Kira, I’m the daughter of Madonna, and I am raising funds to support my mums recovery during her organ transplant.

After seeing the journey her best friends daughter, Prue, has been on for 20+ years suffering with MRKH, a condition where she was born without a uterus, my mum has selflessly and bravely decided to join the Uterine Transplant Project at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Sydney to give Prue the ultimate gift of an organ that can bring life into this world.

We live in Melbourne so it has been years of travelling backwards and forwards to Sydney for screening appointments, scans, delays from Covid-19 and preparing for this, but the surgery date is finally set and here!

As this is a major surgery, the recovery will be extensive. Due to my mum being self employed, her second job not having enough sick leave to cover her recovery, her long service leave unable to be accessed and not having a partner, my mum will be looking at a minimum of 6 weeks of no income. As we all know the cost of living is high and everyone is doing all they can to make ends meet, so this will be our means of paying bills. We as a family are hoping this fundraiser will assist in the loss of income my mum will endure, due to doing something so phenomenal.
