Support Audrey Garcia's Maternity Leave

Hello, my name is Cassie Connolly and I am the RN supervisor for a General Medical floor at a hospital. One of my nurses, Audrey Garcia, whom I have known for many years, is going through a challenging time in her life. She and her five children needed to leave their home to escape from an abusive situation. In doing this, she also had to leave behind most of her belongings and is struggling to make ends meet.

She is expecting her 6th child on September 12th and only has enough PTO saved up to take 3 weeks of maternity leave. She has a high-risk pregnancy which is making it hard for her to get through her 12-hour shifts and is experiencing the stress of trying to make ends meet for her kids and is worried she won’t be able to take a normal maternity leave. Audrey is always coming to work with a smile on her face and is putting her home-life on hold when taking care of her patients.

It is my hope that we can pay it forward to her and raise enough money to ensure that she will be able to take a normal length maternity leave and still be able to pay her bills (rent, car payment, and groceries).
