Hi, I’m Ryan Ursida-Tyderek, the proud and loving father of my dear son, Atreyu Ursida-Tyderek. My wife, Kylie Ursida-Tyderek, and I have been caring for and supporting our son, Atreyu, through many challenges in his life. After countless surgeries and procedures, and constant trips to and from the hospital, hotels, and many other insurance expenses that we’ve had to pay out of pocket, we are left with little support. But we carry on each day with love for our little guy.
Artie has had six surgeries to date, two of them being his G-Tube placement so that he can be fed, and the other being his TPN line (Central line) through his heart so that he is hydrated and healthy!
After a long wait throughout our summer we have finally had our Kidney transplant evaluation appointment which is a two day process meeting with each team inside his transplant. This meeting brought us a lot of information from our nephrologists as well as our surgery team and informing us of the risks of his procedure and the wait times for his kidney and the in and outs of benefits of a living donor vs a deceased donor. In most cases receiving a kidney isn’t so complex but with Artie there are many more variables that complicate things as far as his chances of surviving and complications pertaining cancers and mutations to the foreign organ resulting in rejection. Me and mom are processing all of this information and speaking with social workers as well as our vast medical team to decide whether this is what is best for artie’s life ahead of him or if this would make matters worse for him and if we should choose dialysis and let this take its natural course.
as we have traversed these past couple months expenses have been a hard thing to manage between emergency trips and appointments that don’t fit inside a work schedule me and mom are asking for anything to help our family get through another day. $5 is milk for their breakfast for the week $10 is a meal for these beautiful faces a care so deeply for
$20 is gas money so I can continue to run this train and do whatever it takes to help Artie navigate his journey
prayers are more than welcome and words of encouragement and wisdom or even words at all help more than you’d imagine.
thank you to everyone that has been here for the journey and anyone that might be helping forward of this point !
