We're a team of Columbia Law School students raising money for the Asylum Support Clinic (ASC), a volunteer-driven legal clinic that helps asylum seekers in New York City file asylum and work authorization applications.
The government recently imposed fees on applications that were previously free: $560 for work authorization, $100 for asylum, plus $100 for each year the application is pending. For people who fled persecution with nothing, $660 is an impossible barrier.
ASC is working to cover these costs for those who can't afford them. Every $660 raised funds one person's full set of applications — unlocking their ability to work, support their family, and rebuild their life. ASC's services are free and volunteer-run, so donations go directly toward covering these filing fees.
We seeded this campaign with $10 from our class project. Help us turn it into something that actually changes someone's life. Even a small donation makes a difference. If you can't donate, sharing this link helps just as much.
All funds raised will be donated directly to ASC. Learn more at asylumsupportclinic.org.
