Support Astrid Lucero’s Journey to Recovery

Hi! My name is Astrid Carranza. I am reaching out to everyone that is able to see and share this post in support of my daughter, Astrid J. Lucero, who has various medical issues and is currently hospitalized. She has colon cancer, diabetes, RA, lupus, and a few more issues that are devastating her mentally and physically, as well as her “Minions,” Melia (15) and Byron (13). She is being kept in isolation due to a bacteria in her colon, and they are considering removing a portion of her colon. Her body is rejecting antibiotics, and the one doctors want to administer is not under CDC guidelines. She is known to be in and out of hospitals due to her condition. She has been taking a lot of time off work, and this week someone stole $1,000 from her EBT card. She had no choice but to apply for assistance to keep her home afloat. She can’t leave the hospital to file a police report, and rent is due around the corner. Everyone that knows me is aware I can’t help much at this time; my dad is 92, and I have my hands full taking care of him and his own health issues. I am not one to resort to these platforms, but under the circumstances and for my daughter and grandkids, here I am, hoping I can make a difference in their lives and someday pay it forward.

Note: I lost my son 10 years ago due to diabetes/sudden cardiac arrest. I can’t picture myself losing my daughter.
