Support Aster's Family for DHH Camp
Donation protected
This summer our family will attend the MN Deaf & Hard of Hearing Children’s Family Camp being held at Camp Onomia in Onamia, Minnesota on Wed June 19-Sunday June 23rd, 2024. This is our second summer attending, and this camp has provided an inclusive community of Hearing, Hard of Hearing, and Deaf individuals for all of us.
Please help us raise funds to pay for the cost of tuition for our family. Any amount we raise beyond our goal will be donated to the camp to help pay scholarships for other families who wish to attend, and cost is a barrier.
Aster is a bilateral cochlear implant user, and her primary mode of communication is spoken English. American Sign Language (ASL) is a second language we use in our family. This camp is one of the few places where Aster is able to be immersed in ASL, and build friendships with other DHH kids. It is also a place for Corby and I to build relationships with Deaf adults who can provide mentorship to us and Aster, and other Hearing parents of DHH children. It's truly a unique community that is the perfect fit for our family.
Any amount you can give to support our involvement in this camp is appreciated! You can learn more about the camp on the Camp Onomia website -- scroll down to the DHH Family camp week. Thank you!
