Please Support Our Family After A Horrible Unlawful Eviction

Four Senior citizens, 3 of them my family, 80 y/o mother who suffers from medical issues, 65 y/o brother who is schizophrenic, 60 y/o sister who recently suffered from a mild stroke and my mothers husband who recently had surgery, have been unlawfully locked out of the illegal basement dwelling without proper notice. They had they have occupied this place for 5-6 years. The pastor/landlord did not have them sign a rental agreement. The property is owned by a pastor of the church, (of all people!), which is on the same property and a building with some legal rental units. They were given 2 weeks notice and have been asking for more time since rentals are so hard to find. At 7:30 am on Saturday, April 26, 2025, after 3 of them left the basement unit, my sister, was home sleeping. The landlord let himself in, followed by 2 other men. He demanded she get out and instructed the men to throw all of their personal belonging outside. The men did as instructed as my sister tried to call family members for help. Once they finished, the door was padlocked and everything was outside on the wet patio because it had rained Friday night. The family found a storage room and worked diligently to get anything they could into storage. Unfortunately, most of their stuff got wet and is was late and dark, so they had to return the following day to try to clean up what they could of their personal belongings, unfortunately, it poured rain overnight on and everything was wet and damaged, clothing, family personal photos, documents, furniture and everything else a family values and needs.

Some of us have paid for nights in most cost effective hotel we could find, but as you all know, this is becoming very costly and we are working very hard to find them a place they can afford. We need help for additional accommodation nights and they will need funds for a deposit, first and last month of rent. In addition to replacing their furniture and other items damaged by the rain.

Any help would be greatly appreciated including if anyone knows of a place that would rent to 4 senior citizens or even a temporary rental, mobile home, apartment, house etc...while the family seeks a place for them.

An elder abuse complaint will be filed and anyone else I can help would be appreciated. I am getting in touch with any organizations that can guide me and family in the right direction.

Cuatro personas mayores, 3 de ellas mi familia, una madre de 80 años que sufre de problemas médicos, un hermano de 65 años que es esquizofrénico, una hermana de 60 años que recientemente sufrió un derrame cerebral leve y el esposo de mi madre que recientemente se sometió a una cirugía, han sido bloqueados ilegalmente fuera de la vivienda ilegal del sótano sin previo aviso. Han ocupado este lugar durante 5-6 años. El pastor/propietario no les hizo firmar un contrato de alquiler. La propiedad es propiedad de un pastor de la iglesia, (¡de todas las personas, UN PASTOR!), que está en la misma propiedad y un edificio con algunas unidades de alquiler legales. Se les dio 2 semanas de aviso y han estado pidiendo más tiempo ya que los alquileres son muy difíciles de encontrar. A las 7:30 a.m. del sábado 26 de abril de 2025, después de que 3 de ellos salieron de la unidad del sótano, mi hermana estaba en casa durmiendo. El propietario se dejó entrar, seguido por otros 2 hombres. Le exigió que saliera e instruyó a los hombres para que arrojaran todas sus pertenencias personales afuera. Los hombres hicieron lo que se les instruyó. mientras mi hermana intentaba llamar a sus familiares para pedir ayuda. Una vez que terminaron, la puerta estaba cerrada con candado y todo estaba afuera en el patio mojado porque había llovido el viernes por la noche. La familia encontró un almacén y trabajó diligentemente para conseguir todo lo que pudieran en el almacén. Desafortunadamente, la mayoría de sus cosas se mojaron y era tarde y oscuro, por lo que tuvieron que regresar al día siguiente para tratar de limpiar lo que pudieron de sus pertenencias personales, desafortunadamente, llovió a cántaros durante la noche y todo estaba mojado y dañado, ropa, fotos personales familiares, documentos, muebles y todo lo demás que una familia valora y necesita.

Algunos de nosotros hemos pagado por noches en el hotel más rentable que pudimos encontrar, pero como todos ustedes saben, esto se está volviendo muy costoso y estamos trabajando muy duro para encontrarles un lugar que puedan pagar. Necesitamos ayuda para noches de alojamiento adicionales y necesitarán fondos para un depósito, el primer y último mes de alquiler. Además de reponer sus muebles y otros elementos dañados por la lluvia.

Cualquier ayuda sería muy apreciada, incluso si alguien conoce un lugar que se alquilaría a 4 personas mayores o incluso un alquiler temporal, casa móvil, apartamento, casa, etc. mientras que la familia busca un lugar para ellos.

Se presentará una queja por abuso de ancianos y cualquier otra persona a la que pueda ayudar sería apreciada. Me estoy poniendo en contacto con cualquier organización que pueda guiarme a mí y a mi familia en la dirección correcta.
