I have lived with type 1 diabetes since I was three years old, and while I’ve faced many challenges over the years, this past year has been especially difficult. I developed diabetic retinopathy very quickly, and it has already caused me to lose vision in one eye, with the possibility of losing sight in my other eye as well. I’ve already undergone one surgery, have another scheduled this week, and will likely need another in the coming months. The speed and severity of these changes have been overwhelming, and I am doing my best to stay hopeful.

With all of these medical emergencies, my bills have been piling up. I am unable to work right now due to my condition, which has made it even harder to keep up with the costs of surgeries, medications, and everyday living expenses. It’s been a very humbling experience, and I am reaching out for help because I simply can’t do this alone.

Many of you know I’ve been a type 1 since I was 3 and have faced many struggles but haven’t told many about my challenges I’ve been faced with within the past year. I’m so thankful for my family and friends who have been my rocks and have supported me through these very hard times. If you are even able to spare a few dollars, it would help so much.
