Support Asheville's Resilient River Communities
Donation protected
My name is Laura Coddington and I live in West Asheville, NC, two hundred yards from the recently devastated River Arts District. Countless homes, businesses, and lives were catastrophically altered by Hurricane Helene. It has been devastating to our community. I am partnering with several local grassroots volunteers and businesses to help some of these losses find a path towards restoration.
My goal with this donation money is to donate money to local businesses in the RAD and surrounding smaller towns that have been devastated by the hurricane.
I also plan to buy supplies for the more rural communities around Asheville (nutritional foods, diapers, baby wipes, insulin, animal/farm animal food, camping grills-pretty much anything anyone needs).
I would like to also use some of this money to help local folks who can't work right now to get by. This hurricane hit us right in the beginning of our busiest time of year and many of us rely on this time to get by. It's already hard times economically right now, and this made it a hundred times worse for those in WNC. Many people will not be working for months, so if we can help them and keep this community alive, let's.
Thank you to everyone for caring for WNC. It has been absolutely devastating here. This area is loved by locals and people all over the USA and world. I appreciate any dollar amount that you could donate to us.
I will be adding more details to this fundraiser over the coming days so stay tuned.
Thank you all and love to Asheville and WNC!
Love,
Laura Coddington
