Support Arif's Family After Tragedy

Mohammad Arif Amarkhail was an Afghan SIV holder who arrived in the United States in 2019. He was filled with hopes and ambitions for a prosperous new life in this country, which was cut short too early.

Arif worked as an Uber driver in Northern California and was the sole breadwinner for his family. In August 2023, he traveled to Afghanistan to visit his family. Sadly, he suffered a heart attack and passed away on September 22 in Kabul, Afghanistan, leaving his family and friends in deep grief.

Arif leaves behind his wife, five young children, and an elderly mother who all remain in Afghanistan.

Arif’s wife and children have green cards. However, they require legal assistance navigating the immigration system and an immigration attorney's help would be invaluable.

Arif left behind car payments, rental property expenses, and other debts. The primary concern is relocating his family to California. Given their youth and language barriers, they might not be able to start working for at least the first two years. We are appealing to the community for donations to support them.

As a community member residing in Roseville, CA, and as Mohammad Arif Amarkhail’s brother-in-law (he was my wife’s brother), I, Najibullah Sahak, have set up this fundraiser. The direct beneficiaries are Mohammad Arif’s wife, Aziza Amarkhail, their five children, and Arif’s elderly mother. Since Aziza and the children are in Afghanistan and she doesn't have a bank account, donations will first be deposited into my account. From there, I will ensure the funds reach Aziza and the children.
