Dear Friends,
My name is Areli Ubeda, and I came to the United States from Guatemala with my family in 1988, when I was just a child. This country has been my home ever since. Like so many others, we came in search of safety, opportunity, and a better future. But due to circumstances beyond my control, I was never able to obtain legal status.
Now, after many years of living a life of uncertainty, I am finally taking a courageous step forward — beginning the process to obtain a work permit and, ultimately, legal residency. This is a life-changing opportunity, but it comes with a significant financial challenge. The legal process is complex, and I need to raise $14,500 in attorney’s fees to move forward.
Because I don’t yet have legal status, I’m unable to work and earn the income needed to cover these costs on my own. That’s why I’m reaching out, with a humble heart, to ask for your help.
If you believe in the power of second chances, in helping someone rebuild their future with dignity and hope, I would be deeply grateful for your support. Every donation, no matter the size, brings me one step closer to achieving stability and living openly, without fear. Your kindness can truly change my life.
Even if you’re not able to give, your prayers, encouragement, and willingness to share my story with others mean the world to me.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this. With your help, I can finally move toward the future I’ve dreamed of for so long.
With love and gratitude,
Areli Ubeda
