Our sweet boy Apollo, a 5-year-old Pomsky with the biggest heart and fluffiest tail, has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma, an aggressive form of bone cancer. We received the heartbreaking news this September, after what we thought was just a simple limp from playing too hard. Unfortunately, it turned out to be something we could never have prevented, a hereditary form of cancer that strikes without warning.

Apollo has always been the light of our lives. He loves snacking, watching the world go by through the window by his favorite green chaise, and getting endless belly scratches from mom and dad. Even now, despite the pain, he still greets us with his happy little dances and that same spark in his eyes, the one that reminds us how much joy he brings to everyone who meets him.

To give Apollo the best chance at a pain-free, comfortable life, our veterinarian has recommended amputation of his affected leg, along with palliative and end-of-life care to manage his comfort and mobility. While we’re doing everything we can to cover the costs, the surgery, medications, and follow-up care are more than we can manage on our own.
