My name is Krystal Bartlowe, and I put this fundraiser together to help support Anthony Meissner as they recover from a recent violent attack. On February 28th, Anthony was stabbed and beaten by a couple while waiting for their Uber to work. They were targeted in this hate-motivated attack for being a member of the LGBTQ+ community. (The perpetrators used homophobic slurs during the assault.) Following the attack, Anthony was hospitalized and had to have emergency exploratory surgery on their abdomen to make sure they didn't have internal bleeding. They were also treated for their wounds, which will take months to fully heal.
