Support Anthony Acosta's Road to Recovery

Hello. My name is Danielle and I’m starting this GoFundMe to help my dad, Anthony Acosta. On June 23, 2024 my father was severely injured when a pick up truck collided into his motorcycle while he was on his way home to New York from North Carolina. The accident left him with several broken bones, severe tissue damage, and nerve damage all in his left leg. Since the day of the accident my dad has had approximately 10 surgeries all in an attempt to save both his life and leg. Unfortunately, he still has many more surgeries to go and he has a very long road to recovery. Many of you who come across this page may know my dad as either Tony if you’re a close friend, or Dino if you’re family, and even Castle if you know him from the motorcycle world. However it is that you know my dad, I’m most certain that you know him as the guy you can go to when you need help no matter how big or small the ask. He is the one you can depend on to show up, especially when it matters most. Most importantly you could always trust that he’d never ask for anything in return and that it brought him happiness to help all those around him. His desire to help and serve was such an innate characteristic that it’s no surprise that he served his country as a United States Marine and then served the city of New York as an officer in the NYPD. My dad almost lost his life doing what he loved the most and that was riding. He loved it so much he made it his mission to ride to every state in the United States, with the exception of Alaska and Hawaii, but he had big dreams and plans to one day check those off his list. Unfortunately, due to the severity of his injuries he may never get the chance to ride ever again. His life as well as the lives of his immediate family (wife, children, grandson) will forever be changed. We are very fortunate to still have him here with us but we are also bracing for the uphill battle he has ahead of him, both now and down the road until he is able to make a full recovery. I’m asking for those that love and support my dad to please help him in anyway you can to make this battle a little easier for him by donating to this page. Your donation will go towards a multitude of expenses that have already resulted due to the accident and future expenses he may incur. For example, necessary medical transportation to North Carolina back home to New York, hospital and rehabilitation expenses, therapy, etc. If you are unable to make a monetary donation, please consider helping in other ways such as suggesting organizations that maybe able to help, spreading the word to others about my dad’s story, sending him messages of support, orthopedic surgeon recommendations as we are desperately trying to get him back home to NY.
