Support Annie During Her Husband's Illness

Our dear friend Annie, head chef of Avalon, is going through a difficult time. Her husband is terminally ill, which is putting a lot of emotional, financial, and logistical stress on her. She is a proud person who does not like to ask for help, but after a long talk we are running a gofundme campaign with her permission. We appreciate if you are able to donate, and she would probably appreciate not having to talk about it.

The intent behind this money is to give her a cushion to take more time away from work without having to stress out about finances. Anyone who knows Annie knows that she loves to work, so she may or may not decide do so… Regardless, we know that with medical bills piling up and her husband’s income off the table, extra money will help her situation. If Avalon had the funds we would gladly give her indefinite paid leave, but that’s not something we can absorb and we need your help.

If you aren’t able to give money but would like to assist in other ways, Annie needs help with things like driving her husband to appointments, yard work, and house work. These things would be best done by those of you who live in or near Catskill and already know Annie. We know that many of you are deeply aware of how much love and energy Annie has given to this community. She’s the chain smoking, foul-mouthed grandma to the entire village of Catskill. This is a great chance to return that energy if you’re able, and we know she will appreciate it.
