For those that don't know my sister Anna was involved in a serious car accident on the evening of May 23rd in downtown Brooklyn as she was driving home from dance class. The accident was caused by undercover law enforcement responding to an urgent emergency.

Anna has suffered a few severe injuries for which she will need extensive rehabilitation and recovery time. Currently it sounds like, at the very least, the entire summer will be spent in stages of recovery.

Anna has been in Brooklyn, NY helping out our family and handling the affairs of our great-aunt who is living with dementia.

She was planning to return home to be with our family in NC following the closing of our great-aunt’s apartment on May 31st. These plans have now changed and Anna has to remain in the state of NY to receive medical care and rehabilitation for her injuries.

We are seeking professional guidance and support along her journey to recovery, and ensuring that she has all that she needs. While NY is a no-fault state that will cover Anna’s time away from work and school, she needs immediate funds to support herself now as she is unable to work with these injuries.

Immediate funds will be for securing housing in NY for at least 4 months and transportation to and from medical appointments.

Anna lives and operates in the spirit of community, and continues to give of herself whenever she’s able, be it financially or by friendship. We are now opening up to her community in hopes that you all are able to support her during this vulnerable time.
