Angie is one of my best friends and truly the definition of sunshine in human form. She is a DACA recipient who applied for her renewal months in advance, but unfortunately, it was not approved on time. Because of this, her work permit and driver's license were revoked, and she has not been able to work or drive since February. Angie lives on her own and was the sole provider for herself. Her family back home in California has also been impacted—her dad was recently detained by ICE, and since he was the main provider, they are struggling with their own fees and are unable to help her financially.
Due to the fact that she hasn’t been able to work since February, she has been facing financial hardships. Thankfully, her work permit renewal was finally approved, but it will still be a little while before she receives the official letter in the mail that will allow her to get back to work. In the meantime, she needs help covering rent for this month and next, utilities, groceries, food for her pups, and other essentials.
Even throughout these difficult times, Angie has kept the most positive attitude and never let her contagious, bubbly personality or light dim. You wouldn’t even know she is going through these hardships—she has even reached out to me multiple times to check up on me. Anything helps, even a share is greatly appreciated! God bless every one of you!
