Hi everyone, I'm Angeline, a current student at San Jose State University.

Today, 10/17/2025, I was harassed by my father who banged on my door constantly, asking me nonsense questions. He accused me of lying about a question I don't even know the answer to, and he almost broke my door down. I was alone at home and was afraid for my life. I was so shaken up and afraid to leave my door. This type of harassment has been happening for about 3 years.

About a month ago, a man with a criminal record filled with sexual offenses broke into my dad's abandoned car outside my house. He has seen and remembered my mom's face. We are terrified if he is released from court and comes back to our house to harass me and my family.

I'm mainly raising these funds because my family, consisting of me, my mom and my little sister, has to endure the harassment of my dad, who is my mom's mentally ill ex-husband. He comes home occasionally to drink and fight with my mother. My dad also doesn't pay the bills to help my mom but spends it on beer and cigarettes.

The rent for our home shared with 5 other families is around $2k+ without utilities which is something me and my mom alone can't afford. She works full-time and I work part-time, both jobs minimum wage. She also pays the bills for the phone, car, food, and such. I help her pay with these things, but it is never enough to cover the full cost.

My mom has been working extremely hard these past years as a mother, worker, and a woman. I don't want her efforts to go in vain. She has been getting old, and her mental health is declining due to the harassment from my dad.

We need $2k in funds because about every place with a single bedroom or two bedrooms in San Jose requires around a $2k deposit.

Even so, most shared single bedroom places don't allow kids, whom is which my younger sister. Me and my mom have been trying to save up to $2k for 7 months ever since I started working, but nothing has been changed. We are nearly homeless. And we need to escape my dad.
