In March 2023, Angel was shot in the head by a landlord tenant officer (LTO) officer during an eviction. Since then, Angel has been a consistent advocate for our community even as she grapples with her own recovery from a traumatic injury. She was pivotal in bringing about the de facto end of Marisa Shuter's for-profit landlord tenant office through her advocacy at Philadelphia City Council.
More than two years later, Angel still has no source of income. Her application for SSI has not been approved yet and she is unable to work due to her disability. As Angel waits for any pay out from litigation, please help her keep a roof over her head so that she can continue focusing on her recovery and advocacy. Funds will cover rent for the coming year, and any additional funds raised will be directed toward utilities, groceries, and medical care.
Angel has gone above and beyond to make sure what happened to her never happens to anyone else, and all Philadelphians are safer because of her work. Please help us support Angel's continued safety and survival!
