A young family in Missouri, Andrey and Elmira Kaushnyan opened their hearts and their home to two teenage boys from Ukraine, and are currently working towards obtaining full legal custody of the boys with a goal of adopting them.
The boys are brothers ages 14 and 15, and have been in orphanages since they were young. The last orlanange the boys were at in Ukraine evacuated the boys to the United States after the beginning of the war. The boys are currently living with Andrey and Elmira and consider them their parents. They became a loving family and cannot risk having the boys return to the orphanage in Ukraine.
Andrey and Elmira found an attorney who has successfully completed the same type of cases. The boys would need to obtain USCIS status and the guardianship would be transferred to Andrey and Elmira. After that process is completed, Andrey and Elmira would be able to adopt them.
While Andrey and Elmira were prepared for the adoption fees, this case is a complex two-step process with high attorney fees during the first, crucial step. The family needs our help with changing the boys’ status.
Andrey and Elmira, along with the boys are appreciative of any amount donated and are also asking for prayers in this process.
