My name is Andrew Perry, and I'm a candidate in the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce's 'Honorary Mayor Campaign.' I am very excited to participate in this Chamber of Commerce program, as it gives me a chance to raise funds for two exciting nonprofits: Labor Community Services - Los Angeles and the USS IOWA's Military Veterans Affairs.
If I am fortunate enough to raise enough funds to be dubbed the Honorary Mayor, I have a whole slew of plans for the San Pedro community - from holding exciting fundraising events for San Pedro's nonprofits to finding ways that I can personally give back to the community.
My connection to San Pedro is through the local Masonic lodge (Los Angeles Harbor Lodge #332), of which I am the current president. The lodge is a member of the Chamber of Commerce. I also live one street out of the jurisdiction, but to be honest - all my business and activities revolve around Pirate Town. My theme for the Masonic lodge this year is very pirate-ish, and that's on purpose because everyone knows that San Pedro IS Pirate Town!

Labor Community Services - Los Angeles (LCS) is the primary nonprofit affiliated with the American Federation of Labor. LCS assists working and union families. I am a proud union worker, and I am active in my union, the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees. I am the President of my Local, and the Secretary of District Council 36. Ever since I've been active in my Local, I've worked alongside LCS, usually by offering charitable donations for their various projects. LCS is such an amazing organization. During the recent wildfires, LCS worked tirelessly to help working families who lost their homes with the necessities: food, water, financial assistance, and shelter. They provide the same services to union workers who are struggling to make ends meet.
USS IOWA. Everyone in Pedro knows the USS IOWA. It's that big ship with the giant guns over by the waterfront. Did you know that the IOWA offers several programs for veterans through their Military Veterans Affairs (MVA)? The MVA has helped many veterans get connected with each other and assists them in a variety of ways: from offering counseling for those suffering from PTSD, helping combat vets readjust to civilian life, and guiding veterans to the various resources available to them.
Please support my campaign and help me become Honorary Mayor of San Pedro!
