Help my kids and me start our lives!

Hi! My name is Andrea & I'm 31. I'm a single parent to two wonderful boys, Chan (14) & Link (7). They are everything to me. I wouldnt be me without my babies. Here's a bit of our story and our predicament.

I was raised by my grandmother at a very early age and had my eldest at 17 years old. I have a lot of lore (lol). Life has been pretty hard. I've battled through a lot of things, including depression. But I've found a way to really dance around the pain. If you know me in real life, you know! I love people that love me. I mean really love. I want to make a change in the world. My upbringing has really made it hard to do so... Before I had my youngest, it was just Chan and I living in a tiny, barely 2-bedroom house. We loved it. It was affordable and cozy.

In 2016, I became pregnant with Link! Shortly after having him is when life hit a bit harder. I had major PPD after I moved into a single-wide mobile home & worked full-time at a gas station. And not to mention, freshly out of a relationship.

In 2019, things were looking up again. I went back to school to study Accounting. I made the dean's list immediately... then COVID happened. My gas station job didn't slow down; we were essential workers.

In 2023, I landed a wonderful part-time job at my local library. Things started looking up. Since then, the economy has really tanked, and the mobile home I've been staying in has many issues that I cannot afford to fix. Along with the area that I'm in not being well-suited for a single mom and kids. So, here we are.

It's now 2025, and I'm finally full-time at the library doing something I have so much passion for. I work in the reference department & have started a Teen Game Night & am starting a Lego Club soon! Earlier this year, I was approved to buy a home. My sweet, 76-year-old grandpa cosigned to help me buy my first home. My dreams are finally coming true. My dream of... my kids having something of their own so they don't have to struggle like I did my entire life. My dream of having a home with floors that aren't sinking, HVAC, and finally to sleep in a bed again instead of my couch. Here's the unfortunate part... I need a bit of help buying a bit more house (we all know how great county jobs pay, I love my job so much). I am pushing to afford the mortgage of a $165,000 home, but most houses that will pass the FHA guidelines are $175,000+. Any bit counts, and I promise that I will make a change if not worldly, locally. I want to help single parents that have been in my situation, I want to create villages and safe spaces. I want to plant flowers in the cracks of the broken boards of this mobile home and skedaddle into a house that we dream of.

I love my kids so much and they really deserve this. ❤️
