Hi, my name is Valerie, and I’m reaching out with a humble heart to ask for support for my family during a very challenging season. In November, our family’s main source of income came to an unexpected stop when my husband, Lance, lost his job after his 18-wheeler broke down. Trucking is our family business and how we’ve supported our household, so this loss impacted us deeply.

For the past four years, I have been a stay-at-home mom to our two sweet boys, Tatum and Truett. Since losing our income, we have done everything we can to stay afloat through small side hustles such as Spark, DoorDash, Instacart, Uber, and Lyft. This month, I also returned to work as a preschool teacher, and both boys are now enrolled in preschool where I teach.

While we are actively working, applying, and doing everything within our power, the transition has been extremely difficult as we continue to maintain household bills while also trying to repair the truck so Lance can return to work over the road. The cost of repairs has been a major hurdle in getting us back on stable ground.

We are asking our community for support as we work toward fixing the truck and helping Lance transition back into full-time driving.
