Support Ananda Kanan – A Sacred Space of Devotion and Servic

Ananda Kanan is the largest Ananda Marga Master Unit in the New York Sector, personally named by Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrti (Baba). As the first Master Unit in the Sector and the only one with designated Baba Quarters, it holds a special place in our collective heart. Baba even gave Sanskrit names to the buildings and projects here, reflecting their spiritual purpose.

Since the 1980s, generations of Margiis have gathered here for Summer Conferences, retreats, and devotional celebrations. Many of us cherish memories of the joy and unity experienced on these sacred grounds.

We’re launching a tiered fundraising campaign to focus on the most urgent priorities first. Your support will directly help us make essential repairs and prepare Ananda Kanan to welcome everyone safely and comfortably.

Phase 1 – Immediate Needs

• $990 – Commercial Kitchen Stove & Oven. The old unit was removed due to gas leaks. We need a safe, functional replacement to feed participants during the retreat.

• $510 – Chainsaw for Grounds Maintenance for clearing dangerous branches near roofs and walkways.

• $300 – Electric Wood Splitter to prepare firewood for cooking and winter heating.

• $7,000 – Zero-Turn Mower. Last year’s mower caught fire. A sturdy replacement is essential to maintain the large, hilly lawns, especially with frequent summer rains. Brother Sudhiira has been mowing alone but will retire in July, and Dada will need to resume this task.

Phase 2 – Structural Repairs and Upgrades

• $6,000 – Siding Replacement for the White House (Old Rectory). The siding and windows need urgent repair to protect this historic building.

• $15,000 – Roof and Siding Repairs for Other Buildings. Several buildings have damaged exteriors that must be repaired to ensure long-term use and preservation.
