My only sister Anamaria Rivera was in a serious car accident on April 21st. Someone in a van ran a red light and T-boned her car. Which we later learned that the driver didn't have a driver's license nor car insurance. The driver's side door crushed into the car hurting her. The ambulance took her to Mount Sinai where they discovered that she had five fractured ribs and a lung contusion. A day after she started feeling a numbness in her left arm and they immediately did an MRI and discovered that she had a spinal cord injury. She had to have urgent neurosurgery if not she could end up paralyzed. They performed an Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion. They placed a titanium plate and hardware in 4 of her vertebrates.

My sister's road to recovery is going to be a long one that will require countless appointments with doctors and physical therapists. During this difficult time she will be out of work and facing unforeseen medical expenses. We are kindly asking for any assistance that you can extend to Anamaria during this time to help her get back on her feet. Anamaria is a loving and generous person with a huge heart for giving.
