Inner Peace Society is raising money for my friend and colleague, Gur and his family. Gur is a long-time member of the Cape Town Unitarian church (CTU). He is also a recent graduate from the Unitarian Seminary in America and about to be ordained as a Unitarian minister. Gur has two master's degree and is widely respected throughout the Unitarian movement. Gur and his family urgently need our help. Gur was an investigative journalist back in his home country, and was kidnapped and threatened for his reporting on corruption. He fled to South Africa and started a new life here. After 21 years living in South Africa and struggling to regularize his and his family ' s immigration situation and five years after applying for permanent residency for him and his family, not only has the SA government NOT yet approved his application, but now they are threatening to kick him out of South Africa, even though his paperwork is all in order. It is still not safe for Gur to return to his home country. Gur needs our help! I am starting a GoFundMe to pay one of the top immigration Attorneys to sue the government and require them to approve his and his family’s applications. Our attorney says this is the only way to get his application approved. However, it is expensive–$4,000. Please consider donating via any of the following methods: 1)Donate to my NGO Inner Peace Society's account here: https://innerpeacesociety.org/donate/. Also CTU has set up a separate account to receive donations for Gur. Go to the bottom of our homepage here: CapeTownUnitarians.org.za. Thank you for supporting Gur and his family through this challenging situation.
