1- Presentation of the association
The spiritual Nature Farm is primarily a place where we practice a form of vegetable garden and main Sri-Lankan staple food; Rice cultivation based on the methods of organic natural farming, biodynamics, and other methods that allow cultivation without damaging and harming nature. But it's not just about that.
At the same time, we want to take advantage of this to bring people together and through exchanges (with volunteer, local population...), help to change the people we meet to aware the need using natural methods of agriculture to fight against global warming, climate changes, Poisonless food, malnutrition, poverty, lack of education, etc.
2-Who are we ?
We are an eco-friendly, non profit family Farmers (The parents : Niro, Umanga with their children Manikye, 8 years old ,Swasthi 6 years old) live in the village in Matale, located in the center of the country, in the mountainous and tropical region.
3- Context, actual situation and why it's urgent ?
The community centre has built temporary by using eco friendly wood four years ago, (with some foreign volunteers).
This centre is used for many purposes:
- as the accommodation for volunteers come to our project,
- family accommodation,
- to store the farm products.
Why we need your support ?
The current problem is that the center is totally damaged by termites attacks and due to a some weather conditions.
Now we have to renovate this center soon as possible before the rainy season... in 3 months !
But...
- With covid19 pandemic and the big political and economic crisis in sir lanka that made us more trouble to found volunteer and financial ressources (We lost our main financial and human support since 3 years).
-The cost of all the building materials for houses has gone up 3 times than before ,that means it costs 300% more than before. Here we need your kind support to raise 9300 US Dollars to renovate the centre.. It is around 11500 Dollars in total.
But we could earn and save 3200 dollars during last 3 years by selling our extra organic rice and some other spices. But it is just enough for the eco brick to walls, and to pay for skilled labourers.
Anyway, we need your support to renovate of our dream House..
As explained above, if we do nothing, in a few months when the rainy season starts our project will be homeless and what we built since few years ago... abandonned !
