Support an Afghan SIV Ally and his Family on Their Path to Safety

I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of an Afghan ally family of eight who are in urgent need of support.

Their Story:

This family courageously supported the U.S. mission in Afghanistan and, as a result, have faced direct threats from the current regime. After years of waiting, they finally received a Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad.

The family includes six children, one of whom is living with dwarfism and requires extra care and support. Their children have already endured years of hardship for the past 4 years, especially the girls, who were unable to attend school and have lived in fear and confinement.

How We’ve Helped So Far:

For the past three months, I, together with a generous and committed co-sponsor from the community, have been helping this family. With the assistance of NGOs and CARE team that previously supported SIV applicants, we were able to secure their visas and transfer their case to Pakistan.

Unfortunately, CARE has now suspended its operations, leaving families like this one responsible for covering all expenses on their own. We also requested help from a supportive U.S. Senator, who kindly sent an inquiry to the Embassy to expedite their case.

The family has already secured Pakistani visas, which are currently being sold privately at nearly $800 each, making this step incredibly difficult for them to achieve.

What They Need Now:

This family urgently needs help covering the costs of:

• Travel to Pakistan – approx. $1,200

• Housing & daily living expenses – approx. $1000/month for 3-4 months (~$3000-4000 total)

• Medical examinations (mandatory for SIV) – approx. $3,000–$4,000 for the entire family.

• Legal and administrative fees throughout their process including visa extension, exit permits, and documents renewals. approx. $800-$1000 for the entire family.
