Many of you know the Gould/Rafferty Family. For years, George and Vic have been the heart of our football community. They have volunteered countless hours coaching, mentoring, organizing, and cheering on our kids. Amy, as well, has provided transportation and equipment to children who otherwise could not participate. This family embodies everything our football community stands for: (F.A.M.I.L.Y.) Forget About Me I Love You. They have always shown up without hesitation. I have witnessed their acts of kindness and selflessness on numerous occasions, including with my own son.
Recently, Amy suffered a stroke that affected both sides of her body and was hospitalized for an extended amount of time. While she has been discharged home to continue recovery and therapy, her van was totaled by a fallen tree and the power box to their home was damaged, leaving them without electricity for a week. During the same time the furnace broke and needed repairs. Amy's landlord was very helpful in getting things fixed but definitely a series of challenges no family should have to face all at once.
Despite it all, they continue to support others. I'd love if we could come together as a team, a community the same way they have always done for our kids.
