Support a girl scout on her journey to accomplishing her Gold Award!
Hi, my name is Amy! I am a high schooler from Maryland, and my goal with my Gold Award is to help as many people as possible.
Here's the problem that I am trying to solve: Clothing Insecurity. Having clean, comfortable, appropriate clothes each day is a human right that many of us take for granted. Clothing may determine whether or not a student is bullied, a parent receives a job, or a child gets sick.
Poverty already puts pressure on ~590,000 people in Maryland according to the US Census Bureau . Together, let's make clothing one less thing that Marylanders (from children to seniors and everyone in between) need to worry about!
The first "closet" (consisting of two clothing racks and a collection bins) will be located at the Dancel Y in Central Maryland. At each "closet," anyone will be free to take or leave clean clothes.
Your generous donations will be used for the following:
- Clothing Racks
- Collection Bins
- Hangers
- Advertisements
- Future installations of this project
If you have read this far, I'm so grateful for the time you took out of your day to care about my project. If you are unable to donate right now, you can still help me by sharing or posting about my project. Thank you!

Additional Note: If you would like to have your business be the setting of more "closets", please fill out this form.
