I am lucky to have a mother who is a fierce and devoted caregiver. For the past several years, my mother, Amy, has been selflessly tending to my elderly, 93-year-old grandmother, Bertha, who is bedbound and requires daily support. Last year, in 2024, our lives changed when my older sister, Chelsea, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer: neuroendocrine.
Since then, my mother had become not only my sister's full-time caregiver, but also continued her unwavering care for my grandmother as well. She has stepped away from her full-time job with Flagler County Schools to be everything for both of them: nurse, emotional anchor, and protector. She is the heart of our family, holding it all together through impossible circumstances.
I am writing to you not only as Amy's daughter, but also as Chelsea's sister, Leeon's aunt, and also as my grandmother Bertha's granddaughter.
Every contribution goes directly toward helping her stay afloat as she gets back on her feet after this trying season of our lives. Any amount helps, and we are deeply grateful for your generosity during this critical moment.
With love and gratitude,
Amy, Chelsea, and Chloe
