Support Amly-Gene Reed After Losing Her Home in House Fire

On the morning of December 23, a devastating house fire occurred in Hume, forever changing the life of my great aunt, Amly Gene Reed (82).
The fire took place at Amly’s home, where she lived with her brother, my grandfather, Kyle Darnell (84). By the grace of God, they were both able to escape just moments before the house collapsed. While we are deeply thankful that their lives were spared, the loss is unimaginable.
Amly lost everything in the fire — her home, her personal belongings, and most heartbreakingly, many of her beloved dogs. This was not just a house; it was her life, her memories, and the place she felt safest. She is currently staying with family as she begins to process this sudden and overwhelming loss.
My grandfather is safe and will be staying with my parents, but this fundraiser is to support Amly as she works to rebuild her life from the ground up. The funds raised will go toward:
- Immediate living necessities (clothing, toiletries, food)
- Temporary housing and basic stability
- Replacing essential belongings
- Ongoing recovery and support during this incredibly difficult time
Any amount helps, and even sharing this fundraiser means more than you know. Thank you for keeping Amly and our family in your thoughts and prayers during this heartbreaking time.
