Support AmeriCorps Volunteers in Need
Tax deductible
Help a team of former AmeriCorps NCCC volunteers complete their year of service. Although they were initially funded through AmeriCorps NCCC, their commitment was tragically cut short due to federal budget cuts. Let’s show our resilience and prove that these young people matter.
We are raising funds to support eight team members in Northeast Portland as they continue their service through July, until their other life plans are in place. These young adults work on landscaping projects, enhance livability across affordable housing properties, and foster a stronger sense of community. Their hands-on contributions have directly impacted our ability to serve Northeast Portland residents with dignity and care, and support many small, culturally specific organizations. With your help, we can host these eight former NCCC members to allow them to finish their national service as intended. We need $650 monthly for food and incidentals per member, totaling $11,600. Additionally, we require $3,000 for airfare.
The former NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) was a federally funded, full-time, residential service program for young people aged 18-26. Teams of 8-12 partnered with nonprofit organizations nationwide, engaging in disaster relief, conservation work, hunger relief, and more. The program is a 10-month commitment during which teams travel and live together, creating a unique and memorable service community and family. You may know someone who graduated from this fantastic program.
