Support Amber's Fight for a Double Lung Transplant
Donation protected
We are reaching out to the community to seek support for a remarkable single mother of six children, who is in urgent need of a double lung transplant. Amber Hodgins has been a pillar of strength for her family, friends and community, providing love and care despite her health challenges. Now, she needs our help more than ever.
The Situation
At only 41 years old, this incredible woman has been battling a severe interstitial lung disease that developed after a horrible bout of covid while pregnant with her now three-year-old son. Despite her tireless efforts to maintain a healthy lifestyle (she does not smoke, vape, etc.), her condition has worsened. She was recently admitted to the ICU here in Walla Walla, Washington with a collapsed lung (tension pneumothorax) and pneumonia. Doctors have determined that a lung transplant is her only hope for survival and a chance to continue caring for her children.
Why We Need Your Help:
The cost of a lung transplant is exorbitant and beyond the financial means of our family. Alongside the surgery, there are numerous additional expenses such as pre-transplant evaluations, hospital stays, post-surgery care, medications, rehabilitation, and childcare. These costs are overwhelming for a single mother who is already doing everything she can to provide for her six children. All contributions will go directly towards these needs.
