Worker resistance at Amazon is growing — and so is company retaliation. Magda Malinowska worked in a Polish Amazon warehouse for six years and was a representative with the grassroots union Inicjatywa Pracownicza, which has organized thousands of permanent and temp workers. Magda is also a founding member of Amazon Workers International, which pushes for common demands and coordinated campaigns despite the company's efforts to disorganize workers through divergent pay and dispersed logistics. Amid this rise in solidarity across borders and tiers, the company has been escalating its anti-union attacks. Magda was recently fired as part of this wave, but she continues to organize with the international Amazon worker movement while fighting to get reinstated.
