My name is Amara Graham. I am raising funds for Hurricane Melissa relief on behalf of my family whose home was destroyed by the Category 5 storm. At this time, the only communication we have had with our family in Jamaica was a short call confirming that they are physically unharmed, but their homes have been destroyed. It is extremely distressing to only receive updates about the devastation through limited news coverage and social media posts. What I have seen is my father's home parish covered in rubble, homes torn to the ground, streets flooded, and roads completely destroyed. These conditions have delayed the ability for boots on the ground aid to reach the community.

I can only do what is in my power from overseas. I am preparing to supply my family with the necessary goods and financial support they will need to survive and rebuild.

My goal is to send 5 barrels full of goods directly to my family and the affected community of Westmoreland, Jamaica. All funds in excess of our goal will be wired directly to my family to help them rebuild their homes. In the wake of this disaster, we cannot allow predatory land developers to prey on the desperation of those who have lost everything. Do what you can to help my family keep their land!
