My dear friend Amanda has spent over 20 years as a dedicated nurse always putting others first. Now she needs our help.

In 2020, her husband was diagnosed with leukemia. To support their family, Amanda became a travel nurse, working long hours with no short-term disability. She has been the sole provider ever since.

In June 2026, Amanda received devastating news: stage 3 rectal cancer. She is determined to get surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center hoping to avoid a permanent ileostomy.

Because MD Anderson is out-of-network for her insurance, the costs for surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, travel, and lodging will be significant, especially while she can’t work.

Even now, Amanda is already searching for work-from-home jobs. That’s just who she is.

After watching her serve our community for decades as a labor and delivery nurse, I had to start this fundraiser.

Every dollar will go toward:

• Surgery and specialized care at MD Anderson

• Chemotherapy and radiation

• Travel, lodging, and out-of-network expenses

• Household bills and family support during recovery
